Banyana Banyana will depart for Morocco on Saturday to begin their CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 campaign.
Head coach Dr Desiree Ellis is expected to announce her final squad on Friday ahead of the tournament, which runs from 26 July to 16 August.
South Africa, the defending African champions, have been drawn in Group B alongside Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Tanzania.
SAFA said Banyana have climbed one place to 57th in the latest FIFA rankings following their 1-0 victory over Japan in June and remain second in Africa behind Nigeria.
The team entered camp on 12 July as they continue preparations to defend their continental title.
