The newly elected Executive Mayor of the King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality, Cllr. Mkhanyiseli Dudumayo, has announced his new Mayoral Committee, with the appointments taking effect immediately.
The appointments follow the resignation of former Executive Mayor Cllr. Nyaniso Nelani during an urgent council meeting held last week. At the same meeting, councillors elected Dudumayo as the municipality’s new executive mayor.
In a statement issued on Monday, Dudumayo said the appointments were aimed at ensuring stability, continuity and the uninterrupted functioning of the municipality.
“These appointments are made in the best interests of our residents and the municipality. Our immediate priority is to ensure continuity in governance and service delivery while strengthening accountability and responsiveness across all departments,” he said.
The newly appointed Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs) are:
Cllr. Z. Gana – Budget and Treasury
Cllr. N. Gwebani – Rural and Economic Development
Cllr. N. Mayi – Public Safety
Cllr. L.C. Molakalaka – Corporate Services
Cllr. S. Nyengane – Community Services
Cllr. B. Mbiyo – Special Programmes Unit
Cllr. Y. Gwadiso – Intergovernmental Relations
Cllr. N. Jubeni – Technical Services
Cllr. N. Sibeko – Human Settlements
The municipality said the committee will provide political leadership across key portfolios to improve service delivery, strengthen governance and ensure effective oversight of municipal operations.
Dudumayo also wished the newly appointed MMCs success as they assume their responsibilities.
