Mamelodi Sundowns strengthened their position at the top end of the Betway Premiership table after beating Milford FC 2-0 on Tuesday night.
The Brazilians had to be patient against a determined Milford side that defended well and threatened on the counter, but Sundowns eventually found a way through.
Iqraam Rayners opened the scoring before Antonio Van Wyk added a second goal to secure all three points for the reigning champions.
The victory took Sundowns to 13 points, drawing them level with Orlando Pirates at the summit. The two teams now hold a five-point advantage over third-placed Kaizer Chiefs, who have a match in hand.
Milford remain fifth on seven points from five matches, with Tuesday’s result marking their second defeat of the season.
Sundowns will look to maintain their momentum when they travel to face Golden Arrows on Sunday, while Milford will aim to bounce back when they visit Chippa United on Saturday.
