The long-awaited murder trial of slain rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane is due to begin at the Durban High Court today, Monday, 5 October 2026.
Seven accused are facing charges including two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and firearm and ammunition-related offences.
The accused are Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande, Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande.
AKA and Tibz were shot dead outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February 2023.
The State is expected to call at least 45 witnesses. The first trial session is scheduled to run until 6 November 2026, with further proceedings expected in 2027.
