The Eastern Cape Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Detectives have launched an investigation after four people were found murdered inside a shack at the Solomon Mahlangu Informal Settlement in Walmer, Gqeberha.
Police were called to the residence at approximately 00:20 on Monday, 29 June 2026, where they discovered the bodies of two adult men and two adult women.
According to preliminary investigations, one male and one female were found lying next to each other in the sitting room, while the second male and female were found lying together on a bed in the bedroom. All four victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and were declared dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the killings remain under investigation. Police have not yet established whether any items were stolen from the property, and the motive for the attack is still unknown.
No arrests have been made, and detectives from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are continuing with their investigation.
