Three suspects are expected to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrates Court today in connection with the murder of former world champion boxer Zolani Tete.
Tete was fatally shot at NU 17 in Mdantsane on Friday, 21 August 2026.
Alleged mastermind, 22-year-old suspect, Uzuzole Goqwana, appeared in court on Monday. State Prosecutor Tango Phangalele said he faces charges of murder, premeditated murder and attempted murder.
The attempted murder charge relates to Tete’s 27-year-old girlfriend, who was a passenger during the shooting and remains in hospital.
Goqwana’s case was postponed to Tuesday for transfer to the bail court.
