Orlando Pirates have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Bahrain Premier League side Alkhaldiya Sports Club for the transfer of attacking midfielder Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi.
The 28-year-old playmaker leaves the Buccaneers after establishing himself as a firm favourite among the club’s supporters during his time at Orlando Pirates.
Maswanganyi remained an important part of the technical team’s plans for the new season. However, after discussions with the player and his representatives, he expressed a strong desire to pursue a new challenge abroad.
In recognition of his service to the club and his ambitions for the next chapter of his career, Orlando Pirates agreed not to stand in his way, paving the way for the transfer to Alkhaldiya Sports Club.
Maswanganyi leaves the Buccaneers having made a lasting impact both on and off the pitch. Since pulling on the famous black and white jersey, “Tito” provided the Ghost with numerous memorable moments and consistently represented the club with pride.
His departure comes as a league champion and a player who earned the respect and admiration of Orlando Pirates supporters.
The Buccaneers thanked Maswanganyi for his dedicated service and wished him every success as he begins a new chapter of his career in Bahrain.
